Legacy Postpartum Retreat was created to change the way we care for families after they give birth. It's our mission to improve maternal health by offering a nurturing, nature centered space where new moms, parents, and birthing people can rest, recover, and build their foundation of generational legacy.
Why This Retreat Matters
The postpartum period shapes the health of a parent, a baby, and a whole family.
But in the United States, it’s often treated like an afterthought. Each year, nearly 4 million people give birth in this country, and yet over 80 percent say they leave the hospital feeling unsupported and unsure about how to care for themselves. We also know that one in five people will experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder and that number is even higher for Black, Indigenous, and people of color.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. When families are given the space to rest, receive care, and reconnect with themselves and their new role, outcomes improve. Mental health improves. Parents feel more confident, more connected, and more equipped to thrive.
At Legacy, we’re building a space where this kind of care is the norm. Our retreat will offer:
- Chef inspired meals
- Spa treatments and body care
- Parenting and baby care classes
- Gentle movement like yoga or baby and me fitness
- Nature based healing spaces
- Restful private rooms and vibrant community spaces
We aim to welcome at least 100 families each year, offering one day workshops, community events, and full vacation stays. Whether someone needs rest after birth, space to process grief, or simply time to bond with their baby in peace, Legacy will be a place where healing feels possible.
The Land We're Dreaming Of
Your donation will help us secure the land that brings this vision to life.
We’re seeking to secure 2 to 5 acres of land in Central Florida, in a zone where we can create a space that includes:
Intimate vacation style rooms
Small market gardens
Healing trails and outdoor rest areas
A communal kitchen and classroom space
We believe nature is medicine. It slows us down, reconnects us, and helps us restore what modern life takes from us.
